We are assessing your ability to think independently, design research, and communicate your own ideas. Using AI to produce a project makes it difficult for us to judge your actual skills and undermines the purpose of the application—it’s usually overly generic and shallow. If a project is largely generated by a tool, we cannot be confident about your readiness for doctoral-level research. It may also raise concerns about academic integrity at a very early stage of your career.
